“For the Joy of the Lord is Your Strength.” (Nehemiah 8:10)
September 28, 1970 – July 18, 2009
Misty, Misty, Misty
You were a woman of integrity and devotion and so full of life and joy. You were a dear wife, a most loving mother and stepmother, sister and our most precious daughter. How we miss you and find it so unbearable without you but our hope in the Lord abounds and we know we will see you again.
We just want to let you know how the Lord blessed and lifted our spirits on your memorial day while celebrating your joyous life. All of your wonderful family and friends (including two of your school principals) gathered to share their thoughts and memories of you as we enjoyed delicious food and reminisced. Toward the end of the day, we walked outside and were overjoyed to witness a spectacular and beautiful double rainbow. This was significant to us in that God’s promises are always true.
Misty, you were such a dear and friendly person in life and never met a stranger. You cannot imagine how your legacy will always continue because of the gift of your unselfish love by being an organ donor. People who you never knew will have a more fulfilling life – again, you never met a stranger.
On the day you went to meet the Lord (with your purple-pink hair) we know He understands that you and Naomi were excited and anticipating your vacation to Hawaii. Your adventure to your Hawaiian paradise was not to occur. Instead, you transcended and bore witness to the ultimate paradise.
We had discussed the purple-pink hair and the delicious pineapples from Hawaii which you were going to bring back. So the significance of the rainbow, the purple-pink hair (that is why you name of the quilt is that color), and the pineapple will always be precious treasures in our hearts until we meet again.
Love you forever and ever,
Mom, Pop, Wayne, Hunter, Naomi, Nicole, Bridget, Kim and Ricky
