Dustin was always a very loving, caring, thoughtful child and he always wanted to help no matter what you were doing. When the staff asked me about Dustin being a donor, I told them I needed to think about it and discuss it with my husband, Wayne.
We decided that Dustin probably would want to be a donor so that he could help others to live a longer, better quality of life. And, if an organ transplant could have saved Dustin’s life, I would have hoped and prayed that the organ would be available for him. It did not matter if Dustin did not know someone’s name; he still wanted to help them if he could. So, being an organ donor was his last living, thoughtful, loving gift to others.
