Lorraine Livas Johnson is, and was, a Great Gospel singer.  She loved God. When I count my blessings I count you twice.  She liked furniture, dolls, roses, flowers all color, vegetable garden, elephant vacation, clothes, shoes.  Lorraine was a member of New Magnolia Baptist Church in Levytown Schrioer, LA.  She was in Baptist church at an early age. She began singing in the Jr. Choir and served faithfully and untiringly as president for many years.  She was very sincere in her worship always willing to do whatever, whenever and wherever she was needed.  Lorraine loved the Lord with all her heart and spread the good news everywhere she went.  She was a quiet, humble, soft spoken person slow to anger and quick to pray.  She graduated in 1966 from Southern High School in Houma, LA.  She was employed by Renal Dialysis.  She was a technician for 23 years.  She attended Nicholls State University for one year outside of the New Magnolia Baptist Church.  She participated in the fifth district Musical Choir, a Baptist Association.  The program performs a musical each year for all the Baptist Churches around the bayou.  Lorraine took her love for singing with her everywhere she went.  That is what her neighbors say they miss. Lorraine continues to help people, which is what her life was all about.  Her husband, Clarence, said she loved people, she loved helping people.  She had a garden sign that reads Bloom Where God Plants You.  She enjoyed her home life, singing out in the garden.  Everybody loved Lorraine. She walked around at church shaking everyone’s hands with a smile from ear to ear.  Truly she was a beloved community member, she was just happy.
