Today's Candle Lighting Ceremony to honor our hero’s from Tulane Medical Center. It was a great day, and we were so excited to honor donors and register more at the donor drive. #DonateLifeMonth

LOUISIANA GOVERNOR’S MANSION 💙💚 Thank you, Governor John Bel Edwards! ❤️ FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
April 13, 2018
Louisiana Governor’s Mansion Goes Green for Organ Donation Month
BATON ROUGE - Gov. John Bel Edwards has proclaimed April as Organ Donation Awareness month in Louisiana. This evening, the Louisiana Governor’s Mansion will go green in recognition of the importance of life-saving transplants. “In Louisiana alone, more than 2,000 citizens are in need of life-saving transplants, and it is our hope that by lighting the mansion green everyone will be encouraged to learn the facts about organ donations,” said Gov. Edwards. “We stand with the rest of the nation this month in honoring those who have given the gift of life through organ, eye and tissue donations.” Every year, Donate Life America celebrates National Donate Life Month in April, focusing national attention on every individual’s power to make life possible by registering their decision to be an organ, eye and tissue donor. The Louisiana Organ Procurement Agency and Donate Life Louisiana work together with volunteers, the private-sector and non-profits to inform the public about the Louisiana Donor Registry, which gives hope to those whose life and productivity depend on a transplant. If you are in the Lafayette area, this notable building is showing off in Blue and Green! Take a ride by and let it inspire you to advocate for registration as an organ, eye and tissue donor. Thank you to the team at LITE (Louisiana Immersive Technologies Enterprise) for helping us spread the word about saving and healing lives on #BlueGreenDay
